World famous golf coach to hold seminar in Phuket

GOLF: Legendary coach Hank Haney, best known for coaching Tiger Woods and two-time major championship winner Mark O’Meara, will visit Phuket to hold a seminar and golf clinic at Phunaka Golf Club on Chao Fa Rd on Sunday, August 11.

Wednesday 31 July 2013, 12:29PM

Not only a golf instructor of champions, and a former PGA Teacher of The Year, Haney has also ventured into TV with his own show “The Haney Project”, where he has worked with the likes of former NBA star Charles Barkley, political commentator Rush Limbaugh, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and Olympic medalist Michael Phelps.

He even has his own videogame, “Hank Haney’s World Golf”, released in 2010.

Tony Meechai of Tony Meechai Golf, Bangkok, invited Hank Haney to visit Thailand as part of his Asia-Australia tour.

At the event at Phunaka Golf Club, Haney will hold a master class for Phuket’s aspiring youth golfers, who may someday become future professionals on the Asian, European or American circuits.

“We at Tony Meechai Golf and EdNET Educational Consultancy Services believe that our young golfers, Thai and foreigners, in Bangkok and Phuket, will benefit greatly from Haney’s golf seminar,” says Tony.

“His world-class experiences will inspire and drive our young golfers to learn and practice their swings, and to pursue a career in golf.

“It is a very good opportunity for golfers. Haney’s classes usually start from US$1,000 an hour, but here he will give his seminar for a fraction of the price.

“Hank Haney aims to help young Asian golfers compete on the world stage. Aspiring golfers with potential could be given a scholarship by the International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina too.”

The Hank Haney golf seminar and workshop will be held on Sunday, August 11 at Phunaka Golf Club. Registration costs US$100, and the event begins at 11am.
