Phuket FC drop final home game to lowly Rayong

FOOTBALL: The Islanders' opportunity to leave their home fans on a high note was disrupted by shotty playmaking and missed chances, as last place Rayong United defeated Phuket FC 1-0 at Surakul Stadium on Saturday night.

The team had several chances throughout the night to score, but did not take advantage of their chances. Rayong United, on the other hand, only needed a handful of opportunities and finally put one away near the 31-minute mark of the second half to take the lead.

Despite Phuket FC's dominance of the middle of the pitch, they could not finish several of their scoring chances - many shots going far wide or slide tackled away.

The stretcher was called out four times in the second half, all of them put Rayong United players on the sidelines with undisclosed injuries. All the players returned to the pitch seconds after.

The loss drops Phuket FC to 11th place in Yamaha Division 1, safe from relegation with just one game left next week (November 2) at 5th place Nakhon Ratchisima.
