In 2010, coach Rodrigues, also known by his nickname 'Teco', took Chiang Rai United from seventh in the league table to TPL promotion. Fans hope that he will be able to perform the same kind of magic again for Phuket FC.
Today (August 7), Chairman Pamuke urged fans to come out and show their support for the team and the new coach.
He posted the following on the official Phuket FC Facebook page:
“The event I expected has now happened, with mixed feelings. It was another experience for me.
"From now on, the bad things will be fixed. But I would like to ask fans to please understand our footballers.
"During the game, no matter how they play, whether you like it or not, please, instead of booing them or scolding them, please give them your supportive words, something positive.
"The negatives will only cause them to lose their mind and their focus in the game. That will cost us even more.
"I built this team because I have faith in the fans. I trust in you. Will you show me the same trust too? I want to know if you can do it.
There is an easy way to show it. Come out and show your support for the team, the players, and especially the new coach “Teco”.
"Please don’t let me down. Please don’t let me be the only one fighting for this.”
