No people were injured in the incident.

The bus, registered in Phuket and operated by Piyachoke Sakorn Co Ltd, came to a halt near the Kathu Shooting Range at the bottom of the steep descent on the Kathu side of the hill.

Lt Amphon Wattanangruang of the Kathu Police reported that the bus was carrying 23 Vietnamese tourists from a hotel in the Patong area to go to the airport.

The driver of the bus was taken to Kathu Police Station for further questioning while offials arranged for the bus to be safely recovered from the scene.

See if Bill Murray will come to the Patong hill to do a remake of 'Groundhog Day'.

Of course all blame can be laid on the brakes themselves, there are no human beings who are responsible for making sure that these in-animate objects perform their designed function. After all, here in the real world, high ware components in mechanical systems take care of themselves and never ever need replacing. Brake failure?!

According to another newspaper, the driver was fined 3000b but the company was not charged for not servicing the bus!

What happened to the checks that were going to be carried out on all buses??

Can we make this a bit of "hard talk', please?
09:00 AM, nothing wrong with the road. When was this bus last time certified to be a good overall bus?
Phuket registered and operated, so bus owner knows all details of Patong/Kathu hill, and of course of the non skills of the driver. So, what is next? Any repercussions? Nooo, a bit of brown envelops, and we look forward for the next bus. ...
