TAT announces 2012 training programme

The Tourism Training Network division of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced a new seminar curriculum for 2012 that will focus on sustainability and improving online marketing for industry players.

Training network division director Panjit Santhatkollakar said the 17 seminars in six categories will focus on knowledge-based tourism; in addition to brainstorming sessions that seek to tap feedback from industry leaders for next year’s marketing plan.

“We have six major seminar topics including three new themes to support our objective of achieving sustainability,” said Ms Panjit.

Seminar topics are:

• Online tourism marketing, in Bangkok on February 15 and 16 and in Udon Thani on February 22 and 23;

• Seminar on enhancing international quality tourist markets scheduled two times in Bangkok in May;

• Workshop on ecotourism management scheduled in four different locations in February; Nan province; Pai district in Mae Hong Son province; Koh Samui and Chiang Khan district in Loei province.

• Training on sustainable tourism scheduled four times at the same venues as above during May andd June;

Thailand Property Awards - Asia Property Awards

• Workshops on knowledge-based tourism scheduled in Ayutthaya, Khon Kaen and Chantaburi on three days to be decided; and

• Joint seminars on domestic and international tourism sectors scheduled two times in Bangkok (March) and in Krabi (May).

“Our seminar topics this year focus on online marketing, but we have added ecotourism, knowledge-based and sustainable tourism,” said Ms Panjit.
