The Dinghy Series is a three part event leading up to the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, which takes place December 1-8. The first event took place on Nai Yang Beach in September, with the final Series taking place off Cape Panwa November 24-25.
The race saw Chonburi-native Anaphat Ngamdee going six-for-six and winning in the Optimist Class once again out of 16 racers. He took home the crown at Nai Yang Beach last month in the first Dinghy Series event.
Phuket finished in the top three with Sumet Pandam taking second place in the Optimist Class coming in number two in all six races, while junior sailor Surassawadee Supraw came in third.
The Laser class, which had four racers, saw Auckarapong Chayim of Chonburi take the Bang Tao title with a clean sweep of all six races. Jittawat Boonrat from Songkhla, and Teeranai Petcharat from Phuket, finished second and third respectively.
With the final leg of the Series set for late November in Cape Panwa, Anaphat Ngamdee (11 points) is first with Sumet Pandam (27 points) and Charef Rakpongbandit (39 points) looking to gain the lead.
Similarly, Auckarapong Chayim (11 points) leads the Laser class as Jittawat Boonrat (28 points) and Teeranair Petcharat (30 points) not far behind.
