Phuket water storage to be upgraded as emergency supplies continue

Gov Phakaphong said at the meeting, “As ordered by the Permanent Secretary for Interior, we will explore the various water sources on the island, both public and private, and will work on making them available for public consumption as well as carrying out repairs on existing sources that have deteriorated.”

“We aim to improve the storage of water during the wet season,” he said.

“We will present various plans to the Department of Local Administration to request the required budget to proceed with the projects.”

The governor also said that despite several days of rain on the island recently, water levels are still low and the distribution of water to residents in need will continue until the situation is resolved.

Well dek, I red the full article. (Thank you for your personal attention) It are orders and plans we read many times, over and over. But no projects start to be done. Just some repairs here and there due to deterioration. Deterioration ?? Why did it came that far?

Expecting Phuket Officialdom has any 'feeling' with evaporation is to much to ask. Water management here is just: sitting on hands and wait mother nature. Rains started, officialdom, like students in a class are just "saved by the bell". I am sure soon Officials start to drum their chests and state they have solved the water problems. Hehehe. Up to next time drought crisis.

until they realize that the surface evaporation of each reservoir could be limited simply by digging more in the center bringing the land to the lower areas, 10-15% of the water of each dam will be wasted by simple ignorance ...

I doubt they will build the pipeline. It takes Thai's 5 years to build a half underpass. The greedy locals won't allow U-turn overpasses, they won't allow a pipeline to cross their land. I think the solution is better collection and storage, combined with RO desalination plants. They wasted 324 million on a phantom waste water plant, could have paid for RO plants. Hopeless corruption.

Officialdom, officialdom, officialdom! Seems like someone learned a new word lately and uses it now permanently. And obviously he did not read the full article .

They need to build a pipeline from the huge dam in Surat tani to Phuket to fix this ongoing water problem
They built one in Australia from Perth to Kalgoorlie around 1890 AD approx 600 Klm long when their were only steam engines and camels to work with not the construction equipment now available

.."Until the situation is resolved?'... What a cheap charlie talk. Why they not just say: ..."until mother nature ( rain) fix this water drought disaster"... Officialdom has done nothing to prevent this.
