Phuket's Brazilian striker Dudu scored the opener soon after the start of the second half - sending the 6000 or so Phuket fans present into an uproar - but an equaliser came 10 minutes later from Singhtarua's Diarra Ali, an Ivorian who who played for the Islanders in 2010.
But the Singhtarua players started to fade later in the second half, while Phuket picked up the pace of their attacks, including two attempts on goal that beat the keeper but bounced out off the posts. Some acrobatic keeping by the Singhtarua goalie and bad luck helped keep an Islanders' home victory at bay, and the match ended in a 1-all draw.
The draw means Phuket FC remain fifth in the Yamaha League 1/Thai Division 1 table, and Singhtarua have advanced a few steps - but two of the league leaders are yet to play in this round on Sunday.
