The driver of the vehicle is currently is under police watch at Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town.

At 11:30am yesterday (Oct 4), Capt Chalermsak Aksornpein of the Kathu Police received a report that a car had collided with a motorcycle opposite the Patong City sign on Patong Hill and that the car had ended up down the hillside.

Capt Chalermsak notified his commander of the incident and coordinated with Kusoldharm rescue workers to investigate the scene.

At the scene police found a white Krabi-registered Toyota Vios about 30m down the hillside. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle.

Rescue workers removed the man before taking him to Patong Hospital. However, as he was in a coma he was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town.

Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was Bancha Jaichan, 42.

At 2pm yesterday, Capt Chalermsak then received a report that a woman had been found dead in her rent room on Soi Bangwad in Kathu.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the body of Watsana Dorlao, 31, from Krabi province lying on the bed with a serious wound to her head.

Three plates of food were found beside the body along with two smart phones and a handwritten note. The note read, “Dear Mother, sister and children. I did this because my wife had another man (adultery).”

Police said that a witness told them that Ms Watsana lived with a Bancha Jaichan, 42, from Nan province.

The witness saw Bancha drive out of from the house in a Krabi-registered Toyota Vios at 11:17am.

According to police, at 1:47pm Ms Watsana’s boss came looking for her at the house as she had not turned up for work and was not answering her phone.

This is when the body was discovered, so police were called immediately.

Capt Chalermsak told The Phuket News, "Bancha is to be charged with murder.

"Ms Watsana’s head had been hit with a hard instrument but we don’t yet know what.

“Further details of this case cannot be revealed,” he concluded.
