The free kids’ coaching sessions and touch rugby matches were etablished at the ACG last year, to provide a children’s activity and family fun during cricketing low-season. The youngest age group caters to kids from just three to seven years old.
One of the organisers, Stuart Lees, said they wanted to encourage more children to join older age groups – and were also looking for dads to help out with the coaching.
The rugby coaching sessions are free, and will be held from 9am to 10.30am each Saturday morning from June 15 at the ACG, which features a fully grassed pitch, a modern clubhouse, and a restaurant where families can enjoy the action.
A Dad’s and Kid’s friendly game of touch rugby will be held after each session, from 10.30am to 11am.
Parents interested in registering their children can email Stuart at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information – or simply turn up at the ACG on the day.
