Kidnapped, arrested then deported – bad day for Vietnamese flower seller

The six men aged between 20 and 26 were sent out to round-up a group of Cambodian flower sellers that operate on Pattaya Beach. Instead of kidnapping the Cambodians they forced 34-year-old Vietnamese flower seller, Nguyen Van Tu into a Toyota Minivan in an attempt to scare him into paying outstanding debts.

Eventually the men realised they had taken the wrong man and released him. After the incident, Nguyen reported to the police, who were able to stop the minivan just after 4am.

The six Thai men were charged with kidnap and the Vietnamese flower seller was arrested for working without a work permit and faces deportation.
