Both teams were chasing their first win of the season, but ICC prevailed and emerged as the winners on the day.
After winning the toss the TNT boys strode out to face the onslaught of the ICC bowling attack. Despite losing two early wickets they were able to post their first 50 runs in quick time.
However, after drinks ICC started tightening the screws and the TNT run flow dried up. This was predominantly due to a good bowling display by Imtiyaz Mushtaq, 2 for 21, and Ali Ahmed, 2 for 13.
Besides a solid innings by Anthony Dupont, 47 not out, no other TNT batsmen really troubled the ICC attack, eventually scoring 165 after 35 overs.
With a relatively low total the ICC run chase would always be a comfortable one. Despite the TNT bowlers giving it their all, Imtiyaz Mushtaq led the charge to victory, 54 off 67, ably supported by S Kumar, 32.
While several wickets fell towards the end their innings, ICC scored the winning runs in the 31st over.
The next game in the JLL league will be played early in the New Year, on Sunday January 6, when Patong CC will take on The Village at the Alan Cooke Ground. For more information, visit www.phuketcricketgroup.com
