Phuket News: Australian falls to his death from 21st floor Pattaya condominium

Police and rescue services were called to the base of View Talay Condominium 5 on Jomtien Beach Road just after 5am. Lying on the ground was the body of Mr. Mark Anthony Woodward.

The level of trauma suggested a fall from a high-floor apartment and it was confirmed that Mr. Woodward resided in a 21st floor apartment which was later inspected by Police.

During the initial inspection a badly damaged digital camera was found close to the body and on the balcony of his apartment a chair was placed close to the edge which leads Police to believe he may have been standing on the chair possibly taking a picture of the view when he lost balance and fell.

No evidence of third-party involvement in the death could be found and Police will now wait for the results of a post-mortem examination to determine his level of intoxication at the time of the fall.

The investigation continues and the Australian Embassy in Bangkok have been informed.
